Cordyceps Sinensis was first discovered in the 15th century by yak herders in the highlands of Tibet at over 3000m. After the herders noticed an extraordinary resistance in their animals to the extreme weather conditions prevailing there, they paid increased attention to the mushroom. If you compare Cordyceps with conventional mushrooms, you will notice that it does not grow on tree bark and wood like other species, but in winter as a parasite it attacks the caterpillars of a certain moth and forms an elongated fruiting body from them in summer. From this derives the common name Chinese "caterpillar fungus". Nowadays, caterpillars no longer have to die for it, because the fungus is no longer cultivated in this way, but on certain substrates and special culture media.

ACTIVE COMPONENTS
The most valuable components of the Cordyceps mushrooms are the polysaccharides with pharmacological effect, especially the beta-1,3- and beta-1,6-D-glucans. Furthermore, the vital mushrooms contain all essential amino acids, including the elementary important neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), cordycepin, ergosterol and L-tryptophan, as well as valuable vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
ORIGIN OF RAW MATERIAL
The raw material for our Premium Cordyceps Extract Capsules comes from the renowned province of Jiangsu in China and is cultivated there according to traditionally proven methods. The exceptional soil quality prevailing there as well as the perfect climatic conditions ensure the highest concentration of the valuable fungal substances. During the best harvest time from June to October, when the content of vital substances has reached its peak, the mushrooms are gently harvested by hand.
CULTIVATION & PRODUCTION
Our Cordyceps mushrooms are grown on a special rice culture medium and gently shade-dried after harvest. Subsequently, the fruiting body of the mushroom is separated from the mycelium ("stem"). Now the grinding begins according to the shellbroken method in a multi-stage grinding process, resulting in the finest powder (<0.125mm) at the end. The powder is now gently extracted exclusively with water and without any addition of alcohol at temperatures below 40°C to ensure optimal absorption of all components as well as high bioavailability of the raw material. Toxic residues (such as acetone, methanol) can thus be completely excluded.
